Women and Children Last
Dublin Core
Title
Women and Children Last
Subject
Safer Sex, AIDS Activism, women filmmaker, African-American, Black women
Description
Acquired for research for my doctoral disseration, and then monograph, "AIDS TV." Digitized for my VHS Archives class, Fall 2018. This is a short from what would become an early feature film (Heart of the Matter) made about women and AIDS by my friend and colleague, Amber Hollibaugh and Gini Reticker.
Amber was one of 50 or so media feminists who attended a research meeting for my Women of Vision project in 1994. You can see her intense engagement, one member of a vibrant community.
To learn more about Amber's important life and work as a lesbian, feminist activist, writer, and filmmaher, read Revolution? Hell Yes! Remembering Amber Hollibaugh.
