Emily Fairey

Hi, I am Emily Fairey, an Open Educational Resources librarian at Brooklyn College. I initially created the technological side of the VHS Activism Archive on Omeka, and assisted with its use in two courses. Besides my work at Brooklyn College, I have taught in the Classics at CUNY, Drew University, and Sarah Lawrence College. I am also a musician, playing tenor sax in the Hungry March Band, a brass band that has participated in activist events for over twenty years in NYC. I get a sense of a circle completed from the VHS Activism Archive, as I was a student of Prof. Juhasz at Swarthmore College, at a time when many of the VHS tapes in the archive were being produced. It has been fascinating to participate in reviving this collection.
